Freecharge partners with Meru ride for cashless commuting service

Freecharge, an Indian digital payments platform has partnered with Meru Cabs to enable cashless commute with the Freecharge wallet.  Customers can now link their Freecharge wallet on Meru’s app, with the fare being auto debited from the wallet on the completion of the ride.

This partnership has enabled over 20,000 Meru cabs across 24 cities in India to accept payment through Freecharge. Today’s customer demands convenience and frictionless payment process. With this partnership, Freecharge aims to influence daily habits of commuters to move from cash to digital payments.

Speaking on the partnership, Sudeep Tandon, Chief Business Officer, Freecharge, said, “We are pleased to partner with India’s largest radio taxi provider, Meru Cabs. Through this partnership, we will be able to offer our fast and secure digital payment expertise to the large customer base of Meru and gain wider acceptance as a payment option. This is another step to make payment experience frictionless and convenient for our customers. We aim to provide an incredible user experience in every customer interaction. Commuters now don't need to tender exact cash as the exact fare will be auto-debited from their wallet.”
