IBMs GDC in Pune
IBM has announced the inauguration of its new global delivery center (GDC)
in Pune, located in Hinjewadi IT Park. GDC will provide business consulting and
application services. The center, spread over 180,000 sq ft, can house 2,000
employees. IBM also announced a new global delivery center in Cairo to provide
consulting and application services, with a focus on embedded systems
development.
LTSC in Pune by IBM
IBM also announced a new language translation services center (LTSC) in the
Pune facility to address increasing demand from clients in Europe for
non-English language skills. LTSC will offer a full scope of quality language
translation services for clients and professionals at other IBM global delivery
centers.
Tenth RPG Store in Blore
RPG Cellucom has opened its new store in Bangalore, taking the total number
of stores in the city to ten. Nationally, the chain now has 180 stores. The
stores in Bangalore offer mobility products from leading brands like Nokia,
Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, HP/Compaq, etc.
Sapient Expands I-Biz
Sapient has announced that it has expanded its award-winning Interactive
business with a strategic group hire that brings cutting-edge marketing,
development, and design talent to its team. The companys decision was driven by
the rapidly increasing client demand for Sapients unique breadth of interactive
marketing services, said a company release. The group hire comprises primarily
producers, art directors, sound designers, and video editors from iChameleon,
Florida.
Broadridge to Enter India
Broadridge, whose client list includes large investment banks, will enter the
Indian market when its customers set up Indian operations. The company has
services in the segments of investor communication solutions, securities
processing solutions, and clearing and outsourcing solutions. A service that the
company is keen to introduce in India is the electronic proxy voting for
corporate decision-making.
Accent Expands in NA
Accent SA has announced the opening of its North America operations, with
new office locations in the Silicon Valley and at Ottawa in Canada. Also, Graeme
Finlayson has joined Accents executive team as the new VP of WW Sales, said a
company release.
Adea Reaces Out to M-East
Dallas-based Adea Technologies plans to increase focus on China and expand
its operations to the Middle East market. The company is also planning to hire
over 200 employees in Hyderabad. Adea had set up its China unit in the last
quarter and is looking to set up a center in the Middle East. It recently
launched its Ocelli solution. Powered with Google search, it is the first SAP
product that enables businesses to search and report SAP data in a simple
framework.
USTS New Unit in Chennai
UST Global has announced the opening of its new development center in
Chennai. The new 43,500 sq ft facility will enhance the software development
operations of UST Global in Chennai. The $12-mn facility now accommodate 900
employees and is slated to increase by 1,500 IT professionals in future.
Agile Labs Plans to Spread its Wings
Agile Labs plans to expand its footprints beyond the domestic market with
Axpert, its patent pending SOA-based solution. Starting from Q3 of this
financial year the company plans to expand beyond the domestic market, according
to Raghunathan Perumal, CEO and director of Agile Labs. We are looking at
partners in the US, UK, the Middle-East, Australia and Apac region, said
Perumal.
Intense Takes SaaS Route
As we are not a very large products company we have gone through the cycle
of proving our credentials and we will scale the business through the selling
our products through the SaaS route, said CK Shastri, MD, Intense Technologies.
Our products do not figure as the standard software that companies have
budgeted for. Hence, to cater to these customers we will use the managed
services route. It makes a lot of business sense, added Shastri. The managed
services will be targeted at enterprise and medium sized organizations. Intense
will focus on the banking domain.
