Hexaware's commendable performance can largely be attributed to a simple
philosophy that the management has aligned with its vision for growth: employees
are the most important stakeholders in the organization.
The management and HR team have worked together to put in place a culture of
learning and empowerment. For example, teams are created and put in charge of
their respective clients. The members are responsible for complete interaction,
delivery and services to these clients. They are given the liberty to interact
directly with customers and understand the business needs. Employees get
ownership of the project which creates strong loyalty towards the company. There
is also strong emphasis on an open culture that encourages strong communication
between employees and senior management. Nearly 96% of employees who
participated in the survey expressed complete confidence in the organizational
culture.
Communication channels are transparent. Hexaware has also launched employee
rewards and recognition programs to acknowledge best efforts. Job rotation is
encouraged to achieve employee satisfaction.

A robust performance management tool, Pinnacle, was taken online last year.
Then there is Helix, the intranet tool to facilitate open communication. HR
Orbit is a dedicated portal for all HR related information, forms and policies
for employees. Hexaware conducts training through Hexavarsity, its in-house
training department. The Foundation Training Program (FTP) was launched in 2004
and is currently a full-fledged program. Employees under this program are taken
to a college campus on the city outskirts for six weeks and are trained on
technology, processes and soft skills such as team interaction and
communication.
Stress at work is one of the biggest challenges for HR managers. Some of the
initiatives to reduce stress levels in the past have been activities like
participation in the Mumbai Marathon, observing Kite Flying Day, Father's Day,
Mother's Day, Sports day and the Annual Bash, among others. Page(s) 1
