Interra Information Technologies is a new entrant in our survey. Last year,
it created a special group called '4x18', which Asoke Laha personally leads.
The recommendation of the group led to the creation of several new policies like
annual vacations and flexi-timings.
The annual performance appraisal system has also been redesigned. An exercise
was undertaken by the 4x18 group to capture the job expectations of the
InterraIT-ians. Based on the feedback of the employees, the company set up a
Toastmasters Club to enhance communication skills across the organization.
Currently, a pilot is on and will be rolled out based on the results of the
pilot in the next 12-18 months. The management has introduced the concept of an
'Individualized Corporation' that empowers employees to take decisions and
risks at work, and creates a sense of ownership.
