Whenever Sachin Tendulkar scores a ton or you are about to make that important presentation or attend an interview, or when your chips are down we would look up to the sky for a solution and support. Guess that's where all the solutions reside and now organizations are looking up to the sky (read cloud) for solving their business needs and problems. Cloud is everywhere.

The latest buzz word has everyone hooked - be it users, skeptics, analysts and obviously the marketers. The importance of Cloud as a technology is making an impact and the positive adoption, is the proof point for the same. An interesting analogy which I thought would help explain this concept.  In a dynamic world, IT vendors need to quickly adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of how businesses are done by customers. Selling a product is history now and OEM's are realizing that and are more focused on solution selling. The key focus to build your product strategy should be on solving a customer's business or operational challenges.

Cloud technology does the same exactly. Be it in the form of infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, software as a service, and security as a service.

The overarching principle is that this technology is solving a users business pain points. Cloud computing can be offered in different forms - public, private, and hybrid cloud. Investing in cloud computing services will lessen down your burden of installing and implementing hardware devices and software on your IT infrastructure. What you would experience is a robust and well coordinated process and giving more time to your IT team to focus on business critical needs.

In the current economic situation where budgets are shrinking and every dollar spent is under the magnifying lens, organizations are wary and cautious where the spend would be. Cloud technology eliminates this issue. Pay-as-Per-Usage Model allows the organization to use cloud service as per their convenience and pay for it accordingly. So even if an organization is expanding in the near future they need not worry about it and can pay as per the usage.

Cloud technology can completely give a different user experience in the way how businesses cater to their customers, partners and suppliers. It can eliminate many of the complex constraints from the traditional computing environment viz cost, space, and time. Advantages are many and it's the right time to shift the gears and move to the Cloud.
