AI Bringing The Next Generation Of Cloud Computing and Innovation

By Vishal Barapatre, Group CTO and Co-Founder at In2IT Technologies

Cloud computing has already become an indispensable part of present digitally-interconnected era, where boundaries between physical and digital world have been blurred. Cloud has transformed the way organizations, professionals and even individuals used to store their data, or any other important information that they could not really afford to lose in any possible manner.
The cloud computing market has grown tremendously over past couple of years, which shows how strongly it has affected the work culture and lifestyle in a huge number of ways. With increased demand from compute intensive workloads, and adoption of key service models in cloud computing– Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), organizations have significantly improved their productivity and results while reducing Operational Expenditures (OPEX) and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX). However, CIOs need to take a strategic and forward-looking approach to create robust business models that include cloud technology services, keeping in mind their exact requirements.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) empowers cloud technology by optimizing the use of computer and network resources and enabling intelligent automation. Both AI and cloud complement each other by making machines more human-like as they can effectively learn, act and react just like human beings. AI leverages the cloud-based services to use and analyze historical data to learn from the data, to identify patterns, and to make decisions. AI is thus improving the decision-making process of the organizations by reducing human errors through process automation.

Cloud is spread across various servers, across multiple geographies with multiple languages loaded with big data. Organizations can use this data, effectively, to create automated and intelligent solutions for clients and customers. While AI is making cloud computing even more powerful by extending its applications across different diversified sectors of the economy, organizations must align the technology with their requirements to achieve their long-term business goals.

The Cloud –AI wave has brought major disruption in the IT industry as cloud computing has emerged as a huge platform for AI that make use of different algorithms in order to analyze, interpret and classify data to detect and find similar patterns and clusters in the data. It is a smart combination of technologies that tends to be considered a stand-alone system, and is more often used to provide tailored solutions to customers.

The machine learning process is the most important aspect of the combination of AI and cloud. It lays the foundation of leveraging big data to make fast and reliable decisions, improve the customer experience, and to reduce the risk of cyber crimes. Over the past few years, machine learning has proved its capability to automatically apply complex mathematical calculations to big data at a faster rate than ever before. It has truly evolved in a short span of time and has shown its importance majorly in the field of conversation, where voice-responsive AI systems can respond to human commands. Moreover, it has the ability to deliver faster as well as more accurate results on a large scale that drive new growth strategies and business opportunities for organizations worldwide.

In India, both the AI and Cloud technologies have come a long way and CIOs and other IT leaders are moving ahead with strategic IT planning to create a roadmap for the future. With innovation oriented approach, organizations can leverage continually evolving technologies to improve the overall customer experience and foster business development.
